“Some destinations are not places. They are promises kept, again and again.”
In a vertical frame, the story stretches upward along the tree trunk, turning the bark into a towering wall of time and texture. The Rose ringed parakeet returns on another visit, approaching the familiar nest hole with practiced certainty. Its green body and long tapering tail align beautifully with the rise of the trunk, wings slightly open as it brakes and readies itself. The trunk becomes the quiet focal point, and the parakeet, suspended for a heartbeat beside it, looks like a sentence about belonging written into the forest. One more careful glance, one more soft landing, and it is home again.
